The Central Intelligence Agency and the intelligence community on the whole has come to a conclusion- Russia interfered in our election to help Donald Trump's campaign for President. Now, to be completely fair, they haven't released a lot more than that (probably because it's classified), and they have not once said they actually hacked our election and physically tainted our results. They also never said that didn't happen either. They simply have stated that Russia actively interfered in our election for the purpose of helping Donald Trump win the White House. Whether you call that disinformation or hacking our voting machines, it's very alarming.
Donald Trump simply rejects this finding. He says they are wrong. He doesn't believe them. He says he doesn't think it's even the CIA's position. He doesn't want to get a daily intelligence briefing, he says he doesn't need them. John Bolton, a major adviser to the Trump Transition, says this entire Russian hacking story might even be a "false flag" operation by the government to discredit the President-elect. The Trump Transition has even brought up the ghost of the Iraq War in casting doubt on the credibility of the intelligence community. The incoming Administration is casting direct doubt on the findings of the intelligence community, and casting doubts on the value of their work to the new President.
Meanwhile, Donald Trump is naming a Secretary of State with very close relations with Russia. Rex Tillerson is the CEO of Exxon Mobil. He has no foreign service experience, no political experience, and in fact no life experience outside of Exxon, the only place he's ever worked. Tillerson has negotiated many deals with Russian President Vladimir Putin, a massive energy exporter whom Exxon has to work with. Tillerson has been so good at this that Russia gave him their top civilian honor, an extremely rare outcome for a foreigner. This comes after Donald Trump named a National Security Adviser who also wants to pursue a more pro-Russian foreign policy. The Trump Administration is clearly going to pursue a more pro-Kremlin foreign policy.
Something is not right about all of this. Russia interfering in our election, Donald Trump appointing a pro-Russian National Security team, and the active efforts to discredit our intelligence community- it all strikes me as very weird. It would appear to any objective person that Donald Trump is pursuing the foreign policy that Russia wants. It would appear that he is allowing Vladimir Putin to violate our sovereignty as a nation. It would appear that he is reversing the entire history of the world since the fall of the Berlin Wall. It would appear that he is Vladimir Putin's puppet. Donald Trump, as well as President Barack Obama, owe it to the American people to de-classify the information on this matter, and let us know if we're still a sovereign nation. This is far too important for our people to have any questions. This raises questions about the very independence of our nation.
